9th Annual Marvin Ridge Winter Guard MULCH MADNESS!

Proceeds benefit Marvin Ridge winter guard teams

 

The Marvin Ridge winter guard teams are selling brown hardwood mulch for their team fundraiser. The mulch comes bagged in 2 cubic foot bags for $4.00 per bag.

 

Orders must be prepaid. Mulch will be available for pickup Saturday March 28th, 2020 at the high school bus parking lot between 8AM – 2PM. Free Delivery** with orders of 50 bags or more and delivery is available for an additional charge for smaller orders.

The color guard is a part of the award winning MRHS Marching Mavericks Band. The team performs with the marching band during the marching season. In addition, we have teams in grades 6 -12 that compete during the winter. Our varsity team travels to competitions all around the country. All teams are completely self-funded through membership dues, donations and fundraising.

 

Our outstanding varsity team is highly recognized: WGI (Winter Guard International) Scholastic A 2015 Gold Medal World Champions, WGI Scholastic Open 2016, 2017 & 2018 Finalists and 2018 CWEA – Carolina Winter Ensemble Association Scholastic Open Gold Medal Champions

  • Marching Band Parade Practice this Thursday, November 14 from 3:45-4:45pm.
  • Marching Band Parade Practice next Tuesday, November 19 from 3:45-5:00pm
  • We will not be going to the game this Friday, November 15th.
  • If the football team wins (Go Mavericks) then we will go the following Friday, November 22 with the pep band.
  • There will not be a rehearsal for that game.
  • Jazz Band will practice Wednesday, November 20 from 3:05- 4:05 pm.
  • Parades are November 24 and December 8

What to Wear:

Full Band Uniform, black socks, black bibbers, black marching band shoes, black show shirt, Black gloves (for winds only), Color Guard outfit.  Bring a change of clothes for after we perform. Leadership will not be changing unless told to do so.  Also bring a jacket because the weather is starting to change at night and late afternoons. Leadership will not change until we get home. Bring money for concessions.

 

Things to remember:

  • This is a long day for everyone. Please be respectful of your peers and of the booster parents who have also given up their day to make it a successful trip.
  • We will have assigned buses for all students. Please use the changing rooms and be respectful of others as everyone changes in and out of uniform. DO NOT CHANGE ON THE BUS!!
  • You will need money for lunch/spending, so do not forget to bring a couple of dollars.

 

Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming.
