Marching Band Senior Photos

Senior pictures will be taken this Thursday, August 3 after band camp during the uniform fitting session with Mr. Greg Arthur at approximately 6:15P. Color guard members will go first and once the senior band member is fitted for their uniform, they will get their photo taken. Marchers, photos are from the waist up, but please plan to have your bibbers or black bottoms. These photos will be used to create the senior banners to hang in the stadium.

🌟 Attention Marching Mavericks! 🌟

🎵 The Countdown Begins! 🎵

Band Camp kicks-off with two days of student leadership training on Monday, July 31 from 8:30 AM-5:00 PM, and Tuesday, August 1 from 8:30-11:45 AM.

For all first-year marching band students and returning mentors, the Rookie Camp is a must-attend event on Tuesday, August 1 from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM.

And finally, the start of our Full Band Camp is on Wednesday, August 2, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

If you have not registered for marching band yet and intend to participate, please do so ASAP. Reminder, by the start of band camp all remaining balances are due. Please check your Toolkit balances and pay any remaining balances on your account prior to the start of band camp.

Let's make this year's Band Camp an unforgettable experience. Go Mavs!

Traveling Carols!

Each year, our high school band hosts a fundraiser in which students (on a volunteer basis) travel as a small group to perform for various families and at holiday parties in the surrounding neighborhoods in exchange for their donation. High School and 8th Grade Band Members can sign up to perform with us! All students involved must be able to adhere to the schedule below, as well as provide their own transportation to the destinations on performance days. Rehearsals are required! Please plan to attend one or both sessions! Save the dates and travel along with us!   All Music will be scanned and shared ahead of time as a digital file by Thanksgiving Break

  • Monday, December 5th: Rehearsal in the MRHS Band Room 3:15pm-4:30pm (8th grade participants will be walked over at 3:50pm)
  • Thursday, December 8th: Rehearsal in the MRHS Band Room 3:15pm-4:30pm (8th grade participants will be walked over at 3:50pm) 
  • Friday, December 9th: Neighborhood Caroling! Report to MRHS at 4:00pm (approx.), Caroling ends at approximately 9pm. 
  • Saturday, December 10th: Neighborhood Caroling! Report to MRHS at 4:00pm (approximate), Caroling ends at approximately 9pm.

*Save time for festive treats and fellowship with us Friday night when we finish! Think Hot Chocolate, Tasty Food, and Good Times!

MR Band Mentorship Program

Good Afternoon!

We welcome you to consider joining the Marvin Ridge Band Mentorship Program! Through this program, our young musicians benefit from the added coaching of older, more experienced music students. Band members can also use this time for any service or scholarship hours you are looking to fill. Beginners can apply to be tutored by an older middle school student, 7th and 8th grade students can apply to provide tutoring, and high school students can apply to mentor after your school day! Please read all details carefully, and follow the appropriate link to apply.

Good Afternoon! 

Please use the link below to submit your family's RSVP for Maverick Music Night! We want to be prepared with enough food for all who are attending with their student. Additionally, we could use a couple of donations in the form of drinks, chips, and desserts! If you would prefer not to purchase any of the donations listed on the form, we are also accepting monetary donations to assist with the purchase of the main dishes.

This event is for Friday, May 20th for current concert band students (yearlong/spring 2022) and all 8th grade band students. 

  • Time: Dinner service will begin at 5:30pm in the cafeteria, and the performance and awards ceremony will begin in the auditorium at 6:30pm
  • Dress: Attire for student performers is semi-formal. Shirt and tie/dresses/dress pants, etc. This does not have to be your concert black.
